do you think I will get mid 12's with this combo?

Superram ported
ported Performer RPM heads.
XE-268 comp cam
on a 9.5 cr 355
with a T-56 spinning a 4.10 gear.

------------------
I WOULD RATHER PUSH A CAMARO THAN DRIVE AN IMPORT

1983Z28 350w/ edelbrock performer RPM power package , dynomax shorty headers, 700R-4 with shift kit, 750cfm carb, edelbrock 3" exhaust system, 16" IROC rims and ASCD SS hood.

future mods:
completely done over suspension, black paint with flames,
T-56 almost ready to go in, TPI swap coming up

Wifes new car:

95Z28, AT, leather, T-tops bone stock for now.

future mods:
header to tailpipe replacement and a cold air intake. Then I am just going to leave it alone

It's got a shot with sticky tires. If you're using street radials then don't put anything steeper than a set of 3.42s back there or you'll just blow the tires off in 1st gear.

what can you guys suggest to make this a mid 12 second car for definite? The reason I ask is my friend is so sure my car will be a sled with the TPI or SR that I have to prove him wrong.

I'm hoping to hit 12's with a stock L98 shortblock, TF Heads, XR269HR cam, fully ported edelbrock base and ASM runners

I am just guessing but I would think a TH350 tranny would be better than a t56 for drag racing. Also it would be a lot cheaper. Just a suggestion.

I already got the T-56 in my garage. Why would the Th-350 be better?

I figured 4.10's would make it faster and with the 6-speed it wouldn't affect driveability. What do you guys think?

I would think the T-56 tranny would be fine. Plenty of LS1 and LT1 owners are going into the 12's, 11's, and 10's with it. I recall 1 LS1 member haveing 4.56 gearing out back. He said it was perfectly streetable with his 360 LS1. I believe what the others are trying to say is that you might be more consistent with a automatic tranny than a manual. It is your car though. So do what you like. If you got the T-56 you might as well stab it in there.

-Flowmaster Catback
-Performance Resource Chip
-700R4 (Rebuilt) Too much done to actually list
-K&N Airfilters
-Ported Plenum
-2.77 Gears (not much to brag about but eh, its there)
-MSD 8.5 mm plug wires
-Gutted cat
-!AIR
-Gutted Air Boxes

well I hate an automatic consistent or not. I love shifting it myself.
