87 Formula for Drag Car?

I found an 87 Formula Firebird for $75. No motor, trans, dash, seats, hood,or front clip. It is basically a rolling chassis. Would this make a good dragcar? It is a hardtop if I get it I will drop in my 406ci out of my Nova(7.68 1/8th)Would like for this to be a 7sec 1/8th mile car. Any recommendations?? This car came with a LB9,going to see if it has the G92 option.

I think with some roll bars and some sub-frame connectors, it would be a good racer. You'd have to put some cover plates on the heater core holes to make it a "firewall". Also, if you put a fuel cell in the "trunk" area, you'll need to make a firewall back there too. As far as I know, you'll also need a battery cut-off switch if you put the battery in the "trunk". I would make some plexiglas windows except for the rear b/c it is hard to form a plexiglas duplicate, plus the weight over the rear wheels helps. The frame of a camaro is pretty light, when it is "naked", I could pick it up off the jacks! Maybe I'll race you one day. Good luck!

Great looking RS looks alot like my Z.
MY Z28
Maybe we will race someday. I will most likely box in the rear and add a 4-link. This is going to be a project for a couple of years. Thanks

Your link didn't work. There's 2 http's and after you take one off, the site still doesn't go thru.
