89 GTA 305TPI 5speed, The best i ran was a 15.11 at 93.65 mph (should've been closer to a 14.8 if i knew how to drive). edelbrock headers, highflow-cat, flowmaster on stock cat-back, al driveshaft, also ported plenum, coolant bypass(not that these gain anything). I hope to go again soon (next weekend) with a SLP chip and some sort of coldair.

When I had my car I ran a 14.1 It was a 91 Formula. I had the heads ported with a three angle valve job. Competition cam. Edelbrock headers and flowmaster exhaust. I had a bunch of other things done to it too. Msd 6a,custom chip, hurst shifter,k@n, the kid who has it now ran a 14.6 but then burned up the clutch and tranny.

no cat, no smog, hooker comp. ceramic coated shorty headers, custom 3 inch y-pipe, stock cat back system with a flowmaster muffler, ported plenum, ported intake base and siamesed into the base 1.5in.
i probably should have ran more like a 14.3x but i did something different to my spark plugs to try to get a better spark but i think it hurt me.
i'm hopin for 14.2 with new plugs and a cutout. it all depends on if i can stick my car or not

the stock exhaust is a 3 inch cat back
no they aren't overkill they are the 1(5/8) primaries.
and they aren't super comps just competition headers but they are ceramic coated
i love them they were the best mod i did for my car
plus my car is not smog legal, we dont have to worry about that here in Oklahoma
we don't even have inspections anymore

The numbers in my post are actual drag strip times. The times from my G-tech are faster then then my actual times. The G-tech reads 13.60's at 104 MPH. My G-tech (for reasons unknow to me) will usually read 2-tenth faster then what the car actually runs.

My G-Tech never read very acurate and now that i'm at school in FL the track is only an hr away, i'll just go there and get some real times. I wasn't too happy spending $140 on the G-Tech.

there's a whole bunch of crap in there like exterior mods, but the engine and computer mods, the 14.7 was made on an Ed Wright stage 2, gutted cats (G92), and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I had the Hi-jacker air shocks pumped up to 50lbs for a better "squat" off the launch. And things like the MSD ignition and coil if that even adds HP I sincerely doubt. I don't know if my web-page still works or not, but if it does, it's at: http://php.iupui.edu/~balyea

A Run of 14.5 Is Possible, But I Have to Wait for My Shifter Springs to Arrive (Mine Are Missing for Some Reason). The Run I Know Which Should Have Achieved This Was Against a Mustang Who Ran a 14.865. I Was Ahead By An Entire Car-Length the Entire Run Until My shifter Hit the Gate For Fourth Gear, Causing Me to Miss the Gear and Grab a Very Disappointing 15.810. What Makes This Story Even Worse to Tell, Is The Fact That I Believe I Had My Best Reaction Time On This Run; a .605 Second Reaction.

Ok here is my combo....what hp do you think I will be pushingand what kind of powerband? I am new to this modding thing(I done an engine swap before tho) and really don't know how to match up cams and such.
1) Port and polish my old LB9 heads with a valve job, new springs(what do you recommend) to replace the TBI head on the car now.
2) Heddman TES headers and Y-pipe to add to my 3" cat-back
3) Port plenum, Edelbrock Hight Flo TPI base and SLP runners.
4) Comp Cams CC08-300-8 Fuel Injection Cam Stats:
Dur(.050) I 206 E 210
Lift I .450 E .480
LSA 112
RPM Range 1000-5000

Personally, I think the cam is a little weak for street/strip 305. I have and plan on installing a crane cam 2032 214/220 intake/exhaust. 1.6 roller rockers to get lift around .480/.496". home ported/polished TPI heads, I already have edelbrock headers, plan on burning my own chip eventually, and siamesing the base. You all can have you're own opinion but i think the tuned part of TPI engines is a bunch of B/S. I can't think of anything more fun than my engine breaking at 6500+ rpms. Go for a ride in a low 14 sec N/A honda, it will open your eyes. BETTER YET, drive it yourself, ever shift a car at 8000+ rpms taking it easy on the motor(you know how our cars pull from 3000-4500 in 1st, imagine that from 6000-8400 in every gear), my *** , it's fun. I love to hate them and my friend's civic that's faster than most 3rd gens. 14.3 @97 mph, no internal mods to his 1.8L engine. I hate him too.
