confused about spark plugs

some work is being done on the car, and i thought this would be a good time to check out the spark plugs. the car had a tune up last year, but the shop put on some ford autolites. they work...but i was told by the mechanic who's working on it now that i may want to go to something different.

i've got an 89 gta 350 5.7L w/tpi. msd ignition, headers, hypertech chip, cold air, 3" exhaust...and some other stuff that may or may affect the engine much: new alternator, water pump, smog delete, & 180 thermo. (i'm sure there's more, but i can't think of them.)
the "inside" (cam, heads, etc) of the engine is stock.

what do you guys recommend for plugs? i've heard a lot of different stuff, but it contradicts itself: these are good, those suck, no wait..these are fine.

i'd like some real world help from the guys and gals that drive these cars.
thanks.

You can't go wrong with AC Delco. I have used them over the years and the price is great. Just don't get caught up in the gimics. Get the basic plug - gap it and run that thing.

Yeah, unless your specific motor NEEDS something different, (which yours doesn't), then stick with ACDelco. PN# R45TS

Re: confused about spark plugs

Two reasons that you want to stick to the stock plug and not go platinum: 1. Cost. 3-4 x as much. 2. Your motor is not new and you may find that you will replace them between 20-30K miles anyway.
