Stupid distributor question?

Hey guys. Ive ben tring to get my trans am to start and run correctly. Changed es, cap, rotor, plugs, coil.... etc, all at once. Like a guy i took all wires of cap at once. Now i know the order these fire and should be hooked up to but. the cap is rotated 1 wire to the right to beging with. (Ignition mod points to drivers seat not middle of car). Do i move all wires 1 to the right on the cap or what since the cap is rotated? Please help. The car is misfiring like crazy. Im already on my second set of plugs now. When it fires i get black smoke !!!!

Just align the timing marks and put the #1 plug wire on the cap closest to where the rotor is pointing (or backside of the rotor if it's not at TDC). Then the rest (8436572) in CW order around the cap. That should get it running enough to time it with a light.
