AFR hydra rev(lifter problems?)
I have an AFR hydra rev that I want to use, but my enginer builder says if I have the right springs I wont need it. He also says that they have been known to eat lifters/cams. Anyone had this problem??

I've had the AFR Hydra-rev kit for a little over 2 years now, and with NO PROBLEMS. I don't know what he's talking about. I also know many 4th GEN guys with a Hydra-rev, and "R series" lifters included, and they work fine. Tell him to show you proof, and/or just install the damn thing. Remember, the springs in the AFR Hydra-rev kit, and all REV KITs, just PREVENTS the lifter from bounching on the cam, they DO NOT PUSH on the lifter plunger. I will be re-using mine with my CC P/N 875-16 "R" series lifter with my high revving 383. HTH's

I can see a rev kit adding too much pressure for flat-tappet cams, but the spring pressure from the rev kit shouldn't affect the roller cams.

I've had my AFR Rev Kit on my engine since February, and no problems with it. I've got pics if you wanna see it installed.
