I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing no. Hardened pushrods are about $35 bucks... Comp Cams

stock pushrods are typically carbon steel tubes with hardened ***** welded on the ends. The pushrods that alot of aftermarket guys sell are one piece and are hardened as a single part. Which is better? well, the factory is adequate for normal stock type seat pressures, but as you increase the spring pressure, better units are mandatory. You would be surpised how much the stock ones can handle though, if you are re-using them and not going overboard with springs, then just make sure they are straight(roll em on a peice of glass and make sure then don't wobble) and you will be fine. If you have to buy some, get some aftermarket ones, probably only pay a few $ more, and can be used if you ever decide to go bigger.

Thanks for the replies. The reason I asked was because i'm putting new cylinder heads on and they have guide plates, I know they say that you should use hardened pushrod with guide plates. Can I make it with the stock pushrods?

So you bought new heads with guideplates and you're going to get cheap on the pushrods? Spend the $35 bucks. You are going to spend it now or spend it in a month when your pushrod buckles due to a severely decreased wall thickness, but then you have to buy new intake manifold gaskets and worry about little pushrod shavings floating around in your oil pan. I vote new pushrods.

You better buy new headbolts and decent head gaskets too!

Hey GoFaster, I ran those times @ Lapeer dragway, about 2 months ago. After I but these sportsman II heads and torque arm on, I plan on running a 13.0 or even a 12.98.
