gaskets to use for port matching intake
hey guys i was surfin the archives about portin heads and intakes because i am gonna port mine and install a cam this winter. gaskets came up in one of the discussions. it was stated that replacement felpro, and GM gaskets had too small of openings. what gaskets do you guys suggest? i can get GM gaskets at a good price through my dad, what woudl i have to do to make them work? what would i use to cut them? dont some have a metal core in them? thanks for all your help

ok is that a whole TPI gasket set from Throttlebody to Base, or is only runner gaskets or what?

That is only for the base. Try the dealer for a set of gaskets for the runners only. you will be amazed at how poorly the factory port matching is of the TPI system and heads - even with the stock gaskets. My OEM gaskets stuck out about a 1/16" in a few places!! If you really want to hog out your TPI stuff, get a set of the Large Tube Runner gaskets from TPIS and do your best to match everything to them....
