Throttle position sensor..........Help
When checking my throttle position sensor,it bounces around. The numbers go from .547 then to .543 then to .549 and so on. The fluctuation is there, with sensor tight and just probes connected. Is this the way it should be, or is this a sign of failing. Is on a 1987 TPI 305. Thanks.

Maybe check another low voltage source with your meter, could be just noise.
A 40mv fluctuation wouldn't be anything I'd be concerned about, I don't think the TPS scales in the EPROM have that much resolution?

Yeah, that's nothing to worry about, especially since the highest accuracy I've seen from a scan-tool is 2 decimal places. Mine goes changes a couple hundredths just from the engine warming up.

I was curious of it, because I have off idle hesitation. It's starting to get poor fuel economy. Was around 20 to a gallon now around 16.5. These are a few of the things I've done: new AIC, Bosch platinum plugs, new 8.0 wires, and the cap and rotor. Any other ideas would be great. Thanks.
