tpi running rich

My buddy has a 87 camaro tpi. we are not sure if its 350 or 305, the stock hood says 305, but the guy he bought it from said 350..but it doesnt look like the motor was ever replaced...anyways, at idle it runs so rich the exhaust makes your eyes tear and its almost unbearable. there is no ses light, any ideas? I am thinking its his o2 sensor. thanks

Re: tpi running rich

Vin 8 = L98
If you suspect a swap get a mirror and flashlight
On the rear of the block near the dist there will be a 5.0L or 5.7L cast

Running rich:
Start with the fuel pressure, what is it
Are all 8 cyls firing correctly (check plugs)

Ground out the ADL port and check for codes, simply not having a SES light all the time does not mean there are no codes stored
