TPI Auto to Manual Trans

I have a 1962 Chevrolet Nova with a 383 with Dart Pro Alum 180cc heads with 72cc chambers and flat top pistons. I'm using the 1988 prom currently for an auto trans and a Painless wire harness. I just switch to a Tremec TKO600 5 speed and am having some issues with the speed sensor. The Tremec comes with a GM 10456568 sensor installed. I hooked my VSS wire to the sensor and grounded the other side. I'm getting a VSS code now when I am driving down the hwy..

The other question is (I'm not chip begging) which prom should I use and who is a good person or company to use to burn a custom chip..

Mitch

Re: TPI Auto to Manual Trans

i would start from the vss. the one you have is for 95~2000 (based on part number) and i think those vss have a diffrent output signal than the one they came on 3rd gen camaros 4000ppm vs 2000ppm. for the prom, do you have SD or MAF?

Edit: I see that you have 88 prom, in that case I would start with this bin APYP

You might need to hook the ground on the sensor to the proper one from the computer.

Re: TPI Auto to Manual Trans

I did purchase the Dakota Digital magic box and am hooking it up today. I'm still wondering about the EPROM. Any suggestions.. And I am running the MAF system.

Thanks
