I have similar mods and have a regulator on the way in the mail.

I am setting mine to 52PSI with the hose off. I am doing this because the adaptive learning of the computer will soon recognize an overly rich condition and adjust the injector pulsewidth to compensate. Thus, the effectiveness of the AFPR is in the spray pattern of the injectors rather than the added fuel. The injectors atomize the fuel better at high PSI which also creates a wider spray pattern making the combustion process speed up in a sense.

I will re-post when I get mine on and tell you what improvement it makes,if any.

I currently fun at 48psi but after my engine mods I'll bump it up to 50 or 52psi.

it isnt bad to run the fuel press that high (above 50)? doesnt it put strain on the fuel pump?

It is bad to run at 52 psi on the stock fuel pump. It will burn it out over a short period of time. But at the strip for a couple runs I don't see a problem. I think im going to set mine at 42 psi for hunting mustangs and 48 psi at the strip. Thanks for all the help guys!

irocz28tpi your advice sounds like it might work better email me with your results

The ECM will only compensate on the O2 sensor in closed loop - and then there are limits before it throws an SES code. In WOT, you run only off your tables and various sensor reading. The ECM doesn't compensate at all for the extra fuel pressure. That is why you need to burn a new eprom to take full advantage.

And if your engine wasn't too lean before, you will be too rich. On the mods listed, you will be too rich as the stock GM eprom is overly rich by design and you don't have enough mods to require extra fuel.

I have a Holley 45 PSI in line pump. I am assuming with an AFPR that I can only set it to 45PSI, is this correct?
The Pump flows 255lph.

no. that is the rated flow at that psi. it will flow less as the pressure is raised

That's about what I figured. I've heard some people talk about mounting an Accel gauge on the fuel rail...is this hard to do and is it worth my while? I've already fuel pressure tester, but I think it might be nice to have the gauge there for ease of use. And can you order this throught Accel or sometime?
