airbox

What/where is the airbox, and what does it mean to "chop" it? How do I take the screens off of my MAF?

Since you mentioned MAF, I'm assuming you have a TPI. I wouldn't remove them. I DID remove them and I didn't notice anything, and although no harmful particals should make it past the filter, ya never know. Then comes the next point that the screens create TPI specific airflow that is important to the "tuning" of your TPI. I can't really argue this point, but do a search, you're sure to find it...guys, any other opinions?

As far as the airbox goes. Remove the dual snorkel inlets covering the filters. Remove the filters. What you see below the filters is all one piece. You should see screws around the outside of the "airbox". Remove the screws,( I think I recall it was about 8 or so, maybe less) the whole "airbox" will come out. From the top, see the squares that were covered by the filters? All those baffles can be cut out. You'll see screws in there and you can remove SOME of the baffles by removing them, but plenty more needs to be cut out. I did it and I thought it made a difference. Good luck.

chopping, or gutting the airbox is ur best mod, don't worry about the MAF, or if u do anything then only remove the screen on the engine side of it.
