Hey,
What brand are you running?
------------------
White '88 RS (originally 2.8)
Previous engine-350, .040 over, vette alum. L98s, stock tpi, stock 305 injectors & chip. TES headers & edelbrock cat back. 3.73 gears, 700r4.
Best with 2.8-17.4@77mph
Best with 305-15.0@93mph
Best with 357-13.7@101mph
on a 2.050 60 ft.
(Damn the 2.8!)
New Setup:
4 bolt 357 (10.2:1), AFR 190s (fully cnc ported), LT4 Hot cam (1.6 RRs), Ported SuperRam (upper&lower), Ed Wright custom chip, 24# Accel injectors, Yank 3200 lock-up TC, 3.27 9 bolt rear, some traction! Hoping to see some 12s.

I'm using comp cams 1.6:1 full rollers with L98 aluminum heads and the stock unmodified covers. Maybe I'm lucky...
I ordered my AFRs for permiter covers so I could run a stud girdle. Any recommendations for perimeter covers that will fit a stud girdle that won't break the bank?

I have the Crane gold 1.6
my stock ones are perimeter, but some aftermarket short ones did not work. Will stock centerbolts fit? I think they would be too short. I have 1.6 rr on my g-friends 94 Z and her stock covers fit fine. 87 Fake Iroc. You are running stock covers on your full 1.6's?? What brand?
Thanks

I am using Harland Sharp 1.6 full roller units. They are for 3/8 stud.
With my last heads (vette aluminum L98s) the stock centerbolt covers fit with no arm clearance problems. The only thing that was tight was that when the valve cover was bolted down it would slightly hit the top of the poly-locks- no biggie since they don't move.
On my new engine I am using AFR 190s with hopefully the stock centerbolt covers, i havn't set valve lash yet so i don't know how the clearance is with those heads. My guess is it would be the same if AFR uses the same lip height for the cover rail.
I'm guessing your heads are dual pattern if you are switching from perimeter to centerbolt. right?

naw. They are just centerbolt, but the engine is out of an 1989 truck so it originally had centerbolt anyway. Oh yea I forgot my rockers are Comp cam, not Crane
Thanks
