Injector help

I just installed some injectors that I have had in my hatchback for the past 3 months. They are the Ford Racing kind and are refurbished from Summit Racing. They are 19 lbs injectors which is what I though I was supposed to put in my car. I'm having lots of problems since I put them in, seems like I have too much fuel pressure now i believe. How can I fix this without having to replace these injectors? Is there anything I can adjust or tune to allow the engine to work properly with them? Adjusting the timing did not help me one bit.

What makes you think your FP is too high? It's more likely you missed a vacuum hose or something putting it back together.

Re: Injector help

The injectors don't control your FP. It's more likely that one of the injectors is leaking. You might want to try pulling the big vacuum line off the brake booster and putting it to your ear as someone turns the key on (but doesn't start it). You can often hear one that's leaking.

You don't want to run with diluted oil, bad for the bearings.

Time to take it apart again. Pull the injectors out, but leave the fuel line and connectors on. Then turn the key on, if they are leaking you will see it. How was it running before you changed them?

Re: Injector help

Ford injectors are made for 39.15 PSI if you go higher they flow more then they are stated for. And if they are Denso ones (Ford had denso and bosch made them) The Denso ones are crap, they dont like pressure over 39psi....

I would call Jon up at FIC and talk to him, he sells Bosch III injectors that have a great spray pattern and are flowmatched, and he leaves 3 years warranty on them, cost 169,95. Phone # 770-888-1662

Try setting your fuelpressure to 39 psi (without vacuum) and see if that helps.. or Call Jon right away and talk to him, he will help you with this

Re: Injector help

was beginning to run pretty bad and so i thought it had to be the time to get those injectors in, but i believe it was just an electrical problem that still needs to be fixed.

hey army..
if you are in the service Jon at fic will check your injectors for free to see if they leak. Just call him and tell him you are in the service. This way you will know for sure.

Re: Injector help

not sure what type of Ford Injectors these are...they are a orangish-yellow at the top and grey at the bottom. look like they were spray painted though. I will check today to see if they are leaking. I dont have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator yet, so i cant adjust my fuel pressure. I'm probably just going to go ahead and order me some of those Bosch III injectors. so where is this Jon guy located to check my injectors? I'm located in Minden, LA now and so is my non-running camaro. Hard to crank her now and cant get her a mile down the road...also have no way of towing it and sure dont have the money to pay someone to
