nub help

I have a buddy with a 86 305 tpi and i was wondering if this motor was a hydraulic roller i was under the assumption that pre 87 blocks were not someone shed some light thanks,

You are correct, up until 87 the 305's used hyd. flat tappet cam/lifters.
