WHERE DO I BEGIN, LOL!!! THE CAR IS A 305 TPI, ON IDLE IT REVS AND RUNS SMOOTH, NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS. AS SOON AS YOU DRIVE THE CAR IT STUMBLES ALMOST LIKE APPLYING THE BRAKES AND THEN PICKS UP REALLY SHARPLY, ONCE ACCELERATING IT PINKS CONTINUALLY UNTIL THE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLE GOES INTO A LIMP HOME MODE. ON STOPING AT LIGHTS THE IDLE DIPS DOWN LOW, NOT HUNTING, BUT PICKING UP FOR 20 SECONDS TO 1200RPM AND THEN DOWN TO 700RPM FOR 60 SECONDS, THEN BACK UP, BLOODY ANNOYING, LOL!! THE CAR IS UNDRIVEABLE IN IT'S PRESENT STATE. IT SOMETIMES THROWS UP CODES 21 AND 22 AT THE SAME TIME (TPS SIGNAL VOLTAGE LOW AND HIGH), BUT SEEMS TO ALWAYS THROW UP 43 (EST CIRCUIT PROBLEMS). I THINK I HAVE MORE THAN ONE ISSUE!! PLEASE SUGEST WHERE TO START SORTING THIS THING OUT, I'VE SPENT A DAY BEATING MYSELF UP AND ACHIEVED NOTHING!!

When you scan a car you are suppose to fix the problems in the order that the codes appear. So, whatever code is spit out first, tackle that problem. Subsiquent codes can be triggered by the first code.

 

I didn't know that, so thank you, that will be the TPS codes then, ihave swopped it with a spare one i had and had the same issue's, but nothing to say that was a good part as it was a used one!! Are there any constructive ways to check the low/high voltage issue with the TPS??

 

Your TPS voltage should be set between .54 and .56 volts. Also check for smooth operation throughout the entire sweep. In other words voltage should rise and lower smoothly as you slowlypush the gas pedal to the floor and release no jumping in the readings.

Your at idle setting should read .54-.56 Don't worry to much about the readings as you do your sweep test, you just want that test to show smooth gradual increase/decreases. Turn the key on, and check your voltage readings at idle position. Thats where you set your .54-.56

 

Here are diagnostic charts for code 21, 22 and if needed 43. TPS voltage shoud be .54 to .56 just like rob said. Hope these charts help you out.
