Having problems with a 91 Z with 305 TPI shutting off. It will start afterwards with starting fluid. It seems to be a fuel delivery problem. I also surges some while driving.

Injectors have been cleaned
Fuel pressure checked good
No codes or check engine lite
EGR recently changed
Fuel filter changed

Spent lots of $$$ but local mechanics are getting nowhere.

 

When is it shutting off? Idle, coasting, full throttle, etc.? I would ohm the injectors when they are cold and again at operating temp. Check for vacuum leaks, those hard plastic vacuum lines are sneaky, they may be cracked just enough that you really have to look to see the problem.
