Need a lil input... 2 options.

So i have a 92 z28 350 TPI 5 speed manual, and it has the stock 305 PROM and the stock 305 19 lb injectors. My options are:

1. Tune it for the 19 lb injectors and the more displacement via a new PROM.

or

2. Get a new PROM for bigger injectors, higher pressure and more displacement, and then get new injectors and then install that PROM..

Need some input,

Thanks guys.

I have 29lb Acel on my 89 GTA with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator I would go that way.

Re: Need a lil input... 2 options.

I had a TPI 350 running on a 305 prom for awhile, eventually installed
Ford 22lb injectors and tuned the car when I was ready.

Id rather have the car tuned when everything is in place rather
then tripping over yourself later. Id wait till you have the modifications
in place then have the car tuned.

So the number 2 option is not very logical

As for injector size it all depends on what your plans are for the motor.

Re: Need a lil input... 2 options.

Awesome! Thanks guys for the input. I have been doing some research this whole time and i have heard that the Accel injectors are not very reliable. I only want to do this once (maybe twice when i have to smog again ) I think i will get the Ford 22# injectors and have the pressure regultor at 45-48 PSI, then get a chip burnt. Also to my knowledge ford rates the injectors at 39psi??? So with the fuel rail at 48 psi they would flow more like 24#'s??
The only other brand that caught my eye was Racetronix...
Any potential Problems to speak of??

Thanks again!

Re: Need a lil input... 2 options.

I thinks i will go with the Ford Yellow top injectors, 22 lb/hr at 43.5 PSI.

Call John at FIC: Tel: 770-888-1662. Get the 22lbs bosch design three with the modified base to fit our cars. They only cost $170 and have a 3 year warranty and are probably some of the best injectors on the market. Get a chip for a speed density 350 and run stock fuel pressure. This way you can drive the car without major issues and do a custom tune when you are done modifying it. Just my .
