TPI Plenum Question also ? about running issues,PLEASE HELP
I have a blue power-coated plenum that I know is from and 89 Iroc, will this work on my 87 Iroc? I know 87's have the cold-start injector and the 899 systems dont? Will this work w/o the 9th injector installed?
Also I have a running issue that I need help shooting down. My car idles fine but when I push down on the gas the car acts like it wants to die. Also once i get it warmed up the car doesnt want to start anymore after its at operating temperature. I also have to keep feathering the pedal to get the vehicle to move anywhere(mash on the pedal up and down)
I've recently changed my spark plugs and fuel filter. Cap/rotor and wires were changed back in jan., ignition control module checked out when I had it tested and the coil is also still good.It has a bad maf sensor but I have a MAF sensor on the way yet the maf has been bad for a while and the vehicle ran fine without it hooked up for the longest. I also ordered a BBK afpr from summit. I also just installed a new coolant temp sensor. Could it possibly be that my TPS sensor went bad? Any ideas or thoughts would be great! Thanks
Oh yeah I also have egr blocked off with caps on my edelbrock headers air tubes and the rest of the emissions removed but the car was running good for a year without any emissions so i doubt that that's where my problem lies.
Again, please give me your thoughts and help me trace this problem down.

The 9th injector plugs into the intake manifold and the fuel travels up the tube in the runners to the plenum. No you cannot use the '89 plenum on an '88 or earlier as there will be nothing to block the hole. You'll have a vacuum leak.
As far as your other problem, first thing I would do is get an ohm meter and measure the resistance of all eight injectors. Remove the clip from the injector and put the meter leads on the two tangs of the injector. They should read about 15 ohms when cold and no less than 12 when hot. You need to check them both when cold and hot to make sure. If any of them measure less than 12 ohms you found a bad one.
Lastly, I know you probably dont care, but you should hook your emissions devices back up. They're required to be there on all street vehicles in the United States, even if your area doesnt do emissions testing. They help clean up our air and without them, it gives our hobby a bad name that we're irresponsible and careless.

I beleive the '89 plenum does not have the opening for the IAC/Idle passage, could be why you have idle problems.

Are you using an 87 or 89 throttle body ?

Do as Kevin91Z says in checking your injectors.
The plenum will work as long as the hole in your runners for the CSI doesn't line up with any vacuum sources in the plenum.
Change that MAF and then see what problems remain.

I just changed the fuel pressure regulator with a BBK afpr and before I changed it fuel pressure was 20 psi on the gauge and after I changed it out fuel pressure was still 20psi but bounced around on the gauge.
I think my fuel pump is bad cause i cant here it click on or make any whining noise or anything.
