Ford injectors

I bought the scroggin dickey SD360VTPI engine. I am using the original fuel rails. They sent me 24lb ford racing injectors. The injector retainer clips that hold the originals in the fuel rails will not fit the ford injectors. I called scoggin and they said they have been using the same injectors for that engine for years and no one has ever called about these retainer clips not fitting. Can I run these injectors with out the clips? Is it possible I have the wrong injectors. They swear up and down I have the right ones. they have 223523 on the back and 0 280 155 931 on the side. They look exactly like the ones in this picture.

Re: Ford injectors

weird looking injectors ive never seen them like that but theyre probably right. also the electric plug socket is correct so thatll be fine and you shouldnt need the retaining clips i didnt even use them on factory injectors and no leaks.

Re: Ford injectors

Yep, forget the clips. The new style injectors rock. You got some nice units there, PM me what you paid if you will.

Re: Ford injectors

When running 43.5psi fuel pressure, it holds them in place. No need for clips!
Great injector, we have gotten nothing but postive feedback on them!

Re: Ford injectors

You will not have any problems with that combo. I have had that exact same engine, fuel rail, & injector combo on my car for almost six years now without any issues. The retainer clip isn't really needed after everything in installed. They're there to help keep the injectors in place during installation. After the rails are bolted down, the clips aren't really needed.
