Help!SLP runners don't fit?

I bought runners from aforum member. said to fit 89-92 TPI
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...p-runners.html

I put them together with my plenum and bigmouth intake for a test fit.
I have a 1991 corvette speed density set up. At first I thought I had 2 left sides but now I think I may have the wrong runners. The odd thing is if they were the wrong runners wouldn't they have a cold start injector hole in them.

The problem I have is there is what looks like egr passage on both runners. My stock runners only have it on one side. When I bolt it together ther will be a leak as one of the passages is clearly vissible from the underside of the plenum.

What do I do. Can I just jbweld thet extra runner closed?

I thought that too but then I swapped them form one side to the other and I
noticed the right side top has an angle to follow the angle of the Plenum where the TB goes..

Re: Help!SLP runners don't fit?

yeah, the one runner set has the angled front piece.

I've never inspected SLP runners closely, but are you sure that extra runner actually goes all the way through? Meaning....could it already be closed off?

I'd probably have it welded as opposed to JB. hate to have something come off and go into a cylinder.

interesting.. looks like those made it out of manufacturing without a close inspection. just weld the holes, no harm.

Send them to me and I will weld them shut for free. Just for the cost of shipping them back to you...

ok, they have been welded.
with that out of the way What is your opinion on fully porting the runners.
Does anyone know why they siamese half the runners and leave the others alone?

Re: Help!SLP runners don't fit?

I know this is a older post but figured I'd add some info after I dug it up looking for something else.
The driver side runner needs the small tube plugged for use on 89-92 tpi. SLP threaded each end of that port and included a couple pipe plugs in later years. Was easier to make 1 casting and do a few extra machining operations for different year splits 85-88 and 89-92.
