stalling issue 87 tpi Trans Am 305

My car stalls when at idle like when I roll up to a light the idle drops and then it stalls out, it also hesitates when accelerating. When in park it idles well, and the car other wise runs great, any ideas, could it be the maf? if so how do I clean the maf? what doI use? any help is greatly appreciated, egr ?
Thanks
Mike

possibly something to do with the fuel injection, have you checked your fuel filter? pump? injectors? is the fuel line clogged? this happened to my 350 and i had a bad fuel pump and filter..

Re: stalling issue 87 tpi Trans Am 305

Issue solved,
took air intake and everything apart, unplugged the maf, had to take apart the air filter housing also, then used mass air flow cleaner sprayed down both sides of the maf . also cleaned out the throttle body while everythjing was off. with putting it all back together it took a half hour tops. Now the TA is idling perfect in drive and reverse. thanks for all the help.

PS maf cleaner is available at your local parts dealer for around 8$
