383 tpi?
i recently just purchased a block and rotating assembly from a friend of my teacher, who had recently been laid off and had abuncha stuff laying around he could no longer use. anyways it turned out to be a 350 block 010 casting, scat stroker crank and rods, kb sig. hypereutectic pistons, and double roller timing set for about 700 bucks. now the problem im having is, ive been told countless times that the tpi wont support such big cubes, since some people say it doesnt even flow enough air for a 350. so now ive come to ask is tpi the best way to go? ive got a budget of about 1000 dollars left. so im trying to do this relatively cheap. any tips would be helpful. also the older block i think doesnt have the provision for a knock sensor so i dont know where it would go.
another question i have is, i was thinking of using LT heads and an LT intake since my buddy has some extra stuff he can sell me. now the problem im seeing is that the LT heads are reverse flow cooling so id have to get a reverse flow waterpump right? but they wont allow the tpi setup to bolt on because of the angle of the bolts. not to mention the angle of the bolts is different and wont allow the tpi system to bolt on.
lastly, im upgrading from a 305 tpi, so im also wondering what would i need for the 383 to work? 350 tpi injectors? 350 knock sensor? and 350 tpi and auto. transmission ecu? if theres anything i forgot let me know
so my possiblities now seem like this
1. go carb, ditch the tpi, save the wiring harness, save for a later build or upgrade.
2. go cast iron heads with ported and siamesed tpi system
3. go cast iron heads with lt intake
any help will be greatly appreciated. also keep in mind im on a budget so im looking for a cheap way to get me into the 12's on the quarter mile. and still retain double digit MPG's

Tansmission doesnt use a computer. You would need slightly larger than the 350 injectors which are rated at 24 lbs/hour. There is no difference between the 350 and 305 tpi setup. No difference in knock sensors that I know of either. You would need a good tune either way. I'd say ditch the tpi and go with a stealthram. As far as cheap way into the 12's.........its not cheap.

we have all the equipment to tune carbs at school with no problem. i just havent gotten to the class that can tune EFI. also i think the computer would matter since its what activates the torque converter lockup. and i believe the knock sensor does have to be changed since ive searched in other threads as well.

Re: 383 tpi?
Run a search on knock sensors at any parts store. See if the part numbers are the same.
To run TPI you'd have to open up the intake a lot.
The cheapest way is to just run a carb.
Getting a manifold to bolt to the heads can be as simple as ovaling out the center bolts holes on the manifold.
The trans is the same between 305 and 350. Don't know how it would work if you went carb. I'm sure people on here have done it.
