first picture is the air intake temp sensor, not sure what the second picture is, the third picture looks to be like the connector that goes to the back side of the a/c compressor.

The second plug goes to the conn on the power steering line, the one hiding behind the heater hose.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but is that a stock location for the intake air temp sensor? Mine is buried underneath my TPI plenum and needs to be replaced, but I hate to tear all that out to get at it. I've never seen one on the air intake scoop like this.

You don't hijack at all my friend, because I am wondering the same thing. I have a Intake air temperature sensor under the plenum so I was wondering what that sensor did on the air filter box.

re: What are these connectors/switches to?

Alot of people do this mod.I havnt yet but when I put on my new tpis/slp intake I will move mine into that location. It gives the computer a more accurate Inlet Air Temperature(IAT sensor)than the back of the hot heat soked plenum.Doesnt add noticeable power from what I hear but certainly doesnt hurt afaik.

Re: What are these connectors/switches to?

The V6 cars have the intake air sensor in the black plastic intake like that. The V8 cars have it under the plenum. There's not much benefit to moving it unless you also reprogram the computer chip to take advantage of it.

Re: What are these connectors/switches to?

Thanks for the info, Kevin. I haven't seen a V6 motor in person so I hadn't seen this arrangement before. I wasn't thinking so much about a performance advantage of locating the IAT sensor here as much as it would be 100X easier to change when it went bad (compared to the bottom of the plenum). I wonder whether someone stuck a V6 air scoop on a V8 since that's what was available at the time and left the second IAT sensor disconnected since it wasn't needed.
