Too Much Gas
My mechanic did some work on my car yesterday, when he turned it on he said my engine was getting too much gas. Is this bad, if yes how can I fix this?

Re: Too Much Gas
i had code 33 which is MAF Circut high, that would cause a rich condition because the computer thinks more air so it needs more fuel, which it doesn't but it thinks it does....check your codes using the jumper wire method and look for code 33, if you have code 34 check the MAF relays

Re: Too Much Gas
should have given you 12 to tell you ECM is working properly
34 - Maf gm/sec low (check MAF power relay)
36- MAF burnoff (check MAF burnoff relay)
44- O2 sensor lean, possibly caused by MAF codes
54- i don't know what that code is
i hope this helps

Re: Too Much Gas
No his dumb*** didn't. I figured out that some of my relays weren't hooked up after he did the swap on my car. I plugged em in but I still get a SES light. I'm going to check for codes again tomorrow.

Re: Too Much Gas
reset the computer by unhooking the negative battery cable for a few minutes, and then start the car up and let it run till you get a check engine light and then re check the codes. once a code pops up it gets stored until the computer is clear, so all 4 codes may not be the current problem. so reset it and re-check it and go from there
