Re: expected gain

If your doing all that get headers too. You will have good flow coming in but a bottleneck at the manifolds. As far as gains, for comparison i have 216 at the wheels with a 305. I wouldnt be surprised if you were around 240-250whp. But that throttlebody is way overkill.

Re: expected gain

You are also going to need a tune to get the most out of those mods.

Re: expected gain

Don't get a bigger throttlebody, stock 48mm supports up to 400 horse.
Save your money, get some headers you like, and a good exhaust. You
might wanna wait for the injectors, cam the engine then do injectors with
a tune. With all those other mods, she'd run pretty good!

I see its a package, if its a no-brainer deal then, do it..

Re: expected gain

You can rent a spring compressor from Autozone. I like the long flat arm style spring compressor more than that stupid hook compressor. And i agree, doing springs are not fun. But with the right tools, it won't be too hard, just time consuming.

I would sell the TB tho.

Re: expected gain

They didn't know what a valve spring compressor was? They sell them too. Usually less than $20 or so. Here's an ebay link to the type I like to use.

Re: expected gain

Here is a tip I got from a local hotrod shop. When you do the valve seals DO NOT use those dumb umbrella exhaust ones! Just use the intake ones all all of them. Stay away from cheapy seals.

I did this a few years ago, and no more embarrassing smoke on startup.

Re: expected gain

As far as I know, if the seals are the positive seal type and are made of viton, they should be fine.
