stripped out bolts on superram plenum, Options?
Well I recently had a bad backfire through the intake and it popped the super ram plenum from the runners on one side as well as sprung the lid. So I've got a bunch of stripped holes. Best solution is to get them welded and then retap them. What are my other options? I'm not sure helicoil is the W2G. Has anyone changed out the lower bolts to studs or done something else? I had slotted the screws which does really help with installation.

retap one size over would be my best suggestion. Or you can take it to a machine shop and have then do it if you have the money.

Which route did you end up going? I have 3 stripped bolts in my plenum and want to know how to fix them.

Can you use some Heli-coils. They work great and once installed cannot strip. They are steel inserts.

But the Superram is aluminum, so I don't know how that would hold up. Some people suggest not to use them.

What would be the difference aluminum or steel? the holes are just drilled and tapped to begin with, so a helicoil should be just fine.

If that is what I need to do, Ill try it. I may just get it welded and drill and tap it to the stock size.

I have even used them in aluminum heads to repair damaged spark plug holes.

Yes, the insertion tool winds the spring, thus making it smaller in circumference to install. When installed, it is still under tension. They don't come out and they don't strip nearly as easily as the aluminum does. Good all the way around.
