car is running very rich help.

I just replaced the distributor and aligned it to where the original was. The car runs, but smells heavily of fuel. Fuel press. is 44psi. also i'm getting codes 15 and 21 but don't think the two issues are related. please help. thanks.

Are you sure you installed the distributor correctly, and did you check the timing with a timing light? If the spark is "late" or "early", unburned fuel could be coming out in the exhaust.

yes i put it back to the original spot but i have never put a timing light to it since i'veowned the car, so the original spot may have never been right. I just put a new bolt on timing tab on today because the original was missing. now i just need to get my buddy with the timing light to come over and check timing.
