I'm reasonably confident that the 19# Accels I now have won't be enough. I've been on a few "calculator" sites and am getting slightly different results. It looks like 22's would be enough but be pretty much at the limit. So, I'm leaning towards 24's but don't want to overload/make it impossible to tune. Anybody have any practical experience they'd care to share? Thanks.

Re: Help choosing injector size

I was having the same kinda problem. Only I have a 383 tpi motor and 21lb. injectors and my advice is to call accel and ask them. thats what I did and he told me to go with 30lb. injectors. He will ask whats your flywheel HP. Thats basically all he needs to know so kinda figure that up b4 you call and hell tell ya exactly what ya need. Good luck!!!

Re: Help choosing injector size

If 24s would be a good size for you, I'd go with the Ford SVO injectors.

Cheaper, better spray pattern (better pintle design) and a direct fit.

Re: Help choosing injector size

That's the rub. Most places calculate a little under a 24 lb injector for 300-325 horsepower, which is about where I hope/think I'll be. But, that's at 43.5 psi. I want to run higher pressures which help the spray pattern so a 22 @ 50 PSI looks like it would be just enough. I guess my question is twofold:
A) Do I go a little fat or a little lean?
B) Whats the max pressure we can use on our cars?
I know LSx's run 58 PSI. If I could go that high, I'd def. go with 22's.

Re: Help choosing injector size

I would call Jon up at FIC and talk to him.
I think you should pull it off with Bosch III 22lbs ones, at a little higher pressure then 43.5PSI

But call Jon up at fuelinjectorconnection and he will help you out.

He leaves 3 years warranty on the flowmatched Bosch III (22lbs) injectors and they cost $169,95..

you can run a bosch 3 to 8 bar if your pump could handle it. Anyway a 22 at 58psi is 26.. The ls1 uses a Bosch 3 injector.

That's exactly the ones I'm looking at. I'll give him a jingle.

Sounds sweet, and you will get happy when installing them, it will be like a new car. I have them myself, and I have tested several brands and sizes, but these are the best..
