Guess My Flywheel HP and TQ

I'm going to be building a new motor in April and I mean brand new. It's gonna be a 383. I need to get an Idea of how much power I'm gonna have so i'm not dissappointed when its done. Here it is.....
Eagle 383 rotating assembly 6" rod with 11 to 1 pistons.
Procomp 190cc aluminum heads. I've heard good and bad about these.
Comp 8-305-8 cam and comp lifters.
Hedman 68460 lt headers.
TPIS ported intake
TPIS runners
Ported Plenum
58MM BBK throttle body
Adjustable Fuel pressure regulator
30# injectors
PCM for less Custom Chip
Ported and Desreened MAF
Power pulleys
All new Ignition
Custom Air Intake

Your guess is as good as mine.
Tired of getting outrun by stock LS1's

Re: Guess My Flywheel HP and TQ

I also am building a 383 for my tpi only im going with the comp XFI 560/555 or 576/570 I havent made my mind up yet on which cam probly the smaller. And a set of the 1041 AFR heads. Also I was told at my machine shop its better to go with the 5.7 rods and get different pistons. I would like mor input on that Im going to search and start a new thread on that.I already have the headers roller rockers and fresh 40 over engine MSD and lots of other add ons. My only concern is if it will be wort it and if I will tell a big enough differenc to justify the $2500 i have to spend on the heads cam and new lifters and crank. Also I am going to start doing my own eproms and I hope someone has a good starting point for a 383 tpi motor.

Re: Guess My Flywheel HP and TQ

My whole build is gonna cost me $4,000. I just want a 12 second daily driver. I plan on doing suspension work too. I'm going to use all spohn parts.

Re: Guess My Flywheel HP and TQ

I have been wondering about the AFR 195 heads myself. It's a little hard to justify the price but I've been looking around and they are definately the best flowing 23 degree head on the market for that kind of price. I don't really know why I decided to go with the six inch rod kit. It all comes balanced with a flywheel and balancer. They had the same kit and the only difference I saw was the rod being longer which makes it heavier. Then I read that the piston is lighter with a six inch rod. After I get the 383 in there I'm gonna take out the 3.73's and put in 3.42's.

Re: Guess My Flywheel HP and TQ

The big reason for a long rod is to keep the piston at TDC longer, promoting a better burn... Bad thing is when the piston pin iterferes with the oil ring--not a problem on drag engines, but not real sure how they'll last on the street... I run a zero gap second ring and low tension oil ring, but again in a drag engine. Over 100 passes on it this summer, and still less then 4% leakdown on the cylinders......

What do you think I can pull with the AFR 195's and a little bigger cam and a Stealth Ram on top.
