I just got a PROM from an 87 Camaro TPI 305,will it work in my 89 Trans Am GTA
? I know the 87 had cold start injector, will this effect anything?

 

If your car is a TPI also, then it should work. However, you might find it cranking a bit to get started because the '87 Eprom chip counted on a slightly lesser amount of fuel from the 8 injectors.

...one second thought, if you have a GTA, it should have a 350, right??. So this prom won't work right cause it's for 305 that has 19lbs injectors and a 350 has 21 or 22lbs injectors - so the injector pulse will be off.

Remember 89 is an odd year, no cold start injector(9th injector) ect.

I know a few proms have been dicontinued for 89 and are not cheap to get.
