350 TPI Iroc No Start
Hello all. This will be my final thread for this problem. Next, Chevrolet dealership. Let's see what happens this time. Here's the problem.
One day, out driving, coming to a stop sign, stop..proceed to accelerate, engine dies.
I checked for spark, initially it had no spark/weak spark...I replaced my ignition coil, module and pickup coil. Now, I have strong spark. Wires are very old though. I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge and I have 45psi at the rail and little bleed after key off...pressure is steady at 40PSI. Fuel pump primes and relay is working.
Ohmed injectors, all are 16.1/16.2...checked for power...it's good. Checked all fuses, grounds, connectors...everything seems fine. I tried a little starter fluid, still doesn't start...just cranks. Seems like it tries to catch sometimes. If I bump the starter, it tries to catch everytime but if I hold the cranking, it just cranks. No codes...except for code 36 way before it died on me. I would disconnect and it would run better, not great but better. Tried disconnecting the MAF and start, no start...disconnected TPS, no start.
Fuel injectors are pulsing it seems...I hooked a test light and it flashes brighter...manual says it doesn't matter how much brighter it flashes, as long as it flashes. What else can I try? Oil pressure switch maybe? How would I know if it's bad? 1988 IROC L98 Auto 160,000KM. Very knowledgable users online, I believe we can figure it out. Thanks to all who have tried so far to help me. (Also, forgive me for starting so many threads)

where and how did you check the spark? , the fuel pressure, did you check it while cranking the engine? I would exchange the ignition module, just for kicks... also replace the spark plug wires and spark plugs, especially since you said they are old... again where did you check for spark?

have you tried checking for spark with set timing connector unplugged?i assume you checked for 12v at coil +? this would be really remote but have seen it and youve tried just about everythig else.poss. short on tach side of coil.this can be checked with test light across coil or see if coil is warm to touch after sitting with key on for maybe 20 mins.

Car is running, haven't got a timing light yet so it runs a little rough. Maybe your crank bolt is stripped irocw..
