I have an 87 Firebird with TPI 305, and looking for a compatible 350TPI to install. I found one from an 85 vette, is there anything to watch out for that is different?

 

Look under the tech articles for 85 tpi upgrade to 86-89 ECM. This has some great info on the differences between the 85 ECM compared other years. The 85 is an inferior ECM, but works, and 85 motors will run a flat tappet cam, while your 87 should have the roller cam. Also, get some info on corvettes, because I've found that many in the 80's had very low compression ratios giving them less power than a 305 tpi! Not an impossible swap, but be prepared for possible wiring issues and a low compression 350. Good luck!
