Re: My GTA's Future Plans :D

Cool ideas. I could find 50% or more of that stuff used for way better prices. Check around the boards and save yourself a boat load. GOOD LUCK!

Re: My GTA's Future Plans :D

Red Top=Garbage
Jet air foil=Garbage
BBK 58mm TB=Garbage... well, can be. I'd buy the Holley version first after what I went through with BBK.
Edelbrock runners=I'm sensing a trend here. Find a different brand.
Eibach Sportlines=Are you sure? It'll sit real low, and theres better options. Just need to do more legwork to find them and pick them.
Hypertech Thermostat=Waste of $
K&N filter=To each their own, I guess. I'd spend less on a Wix or Purolater.
Comp Cam kit=Thumpr? I wouldnt.
Fel Pro Head Gasket=I'd buy the MLS instead.
Strange Eng. Front Brake Kit=Planning on a race only car?
Flex-A-Lite Rad Fan Combo=Thats a lot of $ for something you shouldnt need.
Iridium Spark Plugs=Waste of $
24LB Bosch Injectors=Contact southbay or IFC and get the Bosch III for less.

Questions:

HSR? Then you do not need the runners above.
Is your alternator bad?

I would choose a different cam. I will not pick the heads for you, but they're a small port (180cc) head and I do not see the heat crossover/EGR hole so even if you modify the HSR to run an EGR valve so you can pass smog, the heads dont have the hole you need. At that price point, there is probably a better choice out there. I dont think this is going to be a race only car from the other items listed, so forget the brakes you have listed. Do a 1LE/LS1/C5/C6/whatever brake swap instead. That electric fan setup unless yours is bad and you feel like blowing 900 bucks is just eye candy. Maybe thats what you want to do, I dunno.

As far as garbage goes, I've been through a few Red Tops and I would not even take one for free. They're overpriced overhyped junk that cant handle living in an occasional driver for a year. I've had a normal battery in that same car for 2 years since then and its been a complete non-issue. Optima=junk. Same for that Jet air foil, it fits in the TB rubber tubing and cant possibly do a thing, not to mention that BBK or Holley TB already has a formed in airfoil making that Jet thing useless. I had some idle issues with my BBK TB, apparently that was the result of the following:
No note in the box to not remove the spray paint on the back of the throttle blades
I'm just guessing, because in sending that back to BBK and finally getting it back from them after taking a lot more time than they promised... and MULTIPLE contact attempts on my part, I do not know what they did, nor why. I just know there was some hackjob painting applied to the back edge of the throttle blades when I got it back. Its ok now, but I would never buy from them again.

It might help if you told people what your intentions were with the car as well. Couple things conflict, like the Hawks pads and Strange brake kit, and the Edelcrock runners and Holley Stealth Ram.

Spend $150 bucks on an electric exhaust cutout and a stainless y pipe. Hands down the most "fun" thing I have done to my GTA. Nothing makes me smile more then sitting at a stoplight next to some fart can Honda and pushing the switch to open up my Smallblock. The look on their faces is priceless.
