Drag racing and street driving without a VSS.

What if anything can happen if I drag race and drive my car on the street with out a VSS? I put a TH350 in my car when I put the 355 in it and haven't bought the speed sensor and I am wondering how bad I really need it.

I mostly just race it but I plan on driving it some. It doesn't really get raced much either for that matter.

Im interested in opinons and information.

Thanks

VSS is used for speedo ,convertor lockup ( which you don't have ) and reducing revs while slowing down.
You may have the revs drop low when decelerating or coming to a stop because the computer does not know road speed when you lift off pedal and thinks car is idling
