TPI REBUILD
Hello all. I don't want to sound like an idiot, but I have very little experience with rebuilding motors. I did a 350 on a 79 z28 when I was in high school, but lets just say that was a LONG time ago and I am a little intimidated by the whole computer controlled car theme. I had a "trusted" mechanic build me a "new" 383 stroker roller motor about 2 years ago for my 86 Blazer and I don't think I got what I paid for ($6000 later).
I have one of the 3200 convertibles made that year and I want this to be my hobby car, eventually doing a full restore. The car itself is in really decent shape and for what I paid for it, I can afford to bring it back to original.
The reason I am rebuilding is due to the amount of oil leaking and the "black sand" I found when I looked under the valve cover. Oh, and the fact that when I start it cold, I have decent oil pressure but after it warms up, it is in the red.
I don't plan on rushing this rebuild. I plan on starting to disassemble the engine compartment next week and pull the motor the following week.
Is there anything that I should keep an eye open for throughout the tear down?
Thank you for your comments ahead of time.

Apart from that little bit of stuff that bolts on top, the L98 is the same as the 350 you did back then.

SUPER!! That makes things a bit easier. What about all the sensors? Should I replace them all since I am going through the trouble of rebuilding? Oh, and is there anywhere that I can get new aftermarket body/interior parts for my car? Ordered a Year One catalog, and I may as well be looking at a Summit Racing Catalog..very disappointing.

If you've got a reason to suspect that a sensor is bad you can replace it, otherwise it doesn't matter much.
