Injector help

Hey all, Im new to the tpi game .. I recently bought an 89 gta 5.7 liter..From reading other posts i know you guys want details on the engine to help me along...Which by the way i greatly appreciate..ok here goes
89 5.7 tpi
Has been rebuilt with eagle rods, eagle crank ,eagle pistons ,moly rings , crane cam (2032) msd distributor, msd coil, tps airfoil( not sure what this is) , AFPR running 50 lbs of fuel pressure, underdrive pulley kit, edelbrock headers, high flow y pipe, borla adjustable cat back exhaust.. Hpertech comp with 160* thermostat
Ok i think i may need injectors i am getting ready to test them..My question is if i do need injectors should i go to 27lbs or stay with the 22lb..I do not plan on making any more mods to the car.. Other than an idling issue it runs good..

Thanks in advance

Re: Injector help

Hi Southbay not going to make anymore mods than what it currently has, im assuming somewhere around 300 hp at the flywheel is what this combo runs give or take 10 ..This would be my estimate ..As far as the 50 psi i did not set this there ..the previous owner made all the mods and set the fuel pressure at this...He never played with the injectors though..As i assumed #1 injector ohms out at 9.2 the rest even across the board at 16.3..Im not sure but once again i assmued the 50 psi was what crane wanted as far as the cam he put in but once again im guessing

Well, he's not a buddy and it wasn't a sales pitch, just offering an avenue to help you. I guess you have it figured out so disregard any posting from me.

ok

Has been rebuilt with eagle rods, eagle crank ,eagle pistons ,moly rings , crane cam, (specs on cam are, intake at cam 301 exhaust 310...intake at valves 452 exhaust 465) msd distributor, msd coil, tps airfoil( not sure what this is) , AFPR running 50 lbs of fuel pressure, underdrive pulley kit, edelbrock headers, high flow y pipe, borla adjustable cat back exhaust.. Hpertech comp with 160* thermostat
The ONLY mod you have listed here that does ANYTHING to increase the power of the car is the cam.

The rest contributes nothing and you don't need new injectors based on that.

HOWEVER, the cam specs are all over the place. 301 DURATION? REALLY?

You need to have the car tuned to match the cam, and that will determine the injectors.

Ok i think i may need injectors i am getting ready to test them..My question is if i do need injectors should i go to 27lbs or stay with the 22lb..I do not plan on making any more mods to the car.. Other than an idling issue it runs good..

STOP. before you go buying injectors let's figure out what you are doing. You're going to require a tune, not an off the shelf chip. OF the mods you listed, none of them add any power to the car and the cam specs are all off or that's one huge cam for a small block 350.

What you NEED is figure out what you're doing, what you have, before we start talking injector sizing.

Again, call me maybe we can figure this out.
'
Honestly, I wouldn't sell you injectors at this juncture because we don't have a complete picture, we'd never get it right. Running off the shelf calculators isn't going to help until you figure the rest out.

As per our PMs, here's the link to your cam:

http://crane.carshopinc.com/product_...d/15861/104224

Check if it's REALLY a 350 as this cam is spec'd for a 305 and will act as a smaller cam in a 350, and it's not that big to begin with.
