What will it take to run 13's
I have a 89 formula 350 bone stock with 59000 miles and was wondering what it will take to run high 13's with no nos or major engine work is there any combination of bolt on's that would get me there like runners or anything else want to keep the tpi system and the cost reasonable thanks.

You shouldn't have to get that wild. I have 305TPI SD/Auto In a Monte Carlo SS runing high 13's. good exhaust/headers, good wires/coil/plugs, Cold Air intake. and properly tuned(tps. iac valve, timing) also.. the biggest thing what gear your runining in your rear end. I have 3.73's with stock size tires. that should be pretty easy for a 350 to accomplish

do full exhaust with headers/catback, advance timing from 6 deg to 8 deg base. Add 2400-2800 stall and sticky tires.
Good day at the drag strip, thats 13.5-13.7's all day long at 96-98mph on a good running L98. My 89 did 13.63 at 97 with those mods above and 3.42 gears.
I did 13.89 at 97-98 on street tires with same mods with 2.77 gears.
If you get more bolt ons like full aftermarket TPI or full ported factory TPI with new larger runners, (or stealth ram, miniram, superram intake setup) underdrive pulleys, 1.6 rockers, a tune, alot of suspension work in good air you can go high 12's. I've gone 12.95 at 103.8 mph with all the bolt ons with my 160K mile L98.

Re: What will it take to run 13's
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but you'll thank yourself for doing it. Before you buy any mods, give it a full tune up, get it running like off the showroom. Many 350tpi cars can do low 14's bone stock in the right conditions. I'd rather run low 14's bone stock than with full exhaust and other mods.
Then buy drag radials as the first thing. Reliable traction is the best money spent. I hate running a good time, then a bad time, then ok, then bad again. With drag radials, every run will be a good time.
Where do you live? Elevation and temps can be your best friend or your worst enemy. A very cold night near sea level with drags, it's somewhat possible you could hit a high 13 completely bone stock.
