HELP Soldiers 86 Camaro Iroc-Z HELP
Greetings to all, I recently purchased an 86 Camaro Iroc-Z. It has a 305 TPI, 700R4 tranny, and is basically all stock. I need to know what I can do to beef up my performance quick and pocket friendly. I know the cam in the 86 was toned WAY down from the 85 dropping my hp from 220 to 190... I want to get up around at least 250-270 WHAT SHOULD I DO? Please be specific as I am slow sometimes and this is my first tpi! Thanks for the feedback.
FYI I bet my buddy I could beat him in a race at the end of the summer so its very important I get this done... You advice will be used!!!!!!!

Also I think I have a 3:27 rear end (well praying I do... If I had a 2:77 will that stop me from winning?)
He's running a 350 carb crate with upgraded cam and msd dist. and starter... I MUST WIN!

Thanks for the reply but next time how about a little help... Unfortunately the Army doesn't pay enough for me to pay all my bills and go all out on a side project. I have a 1200 budget and can spend around 250 to 500 a month after the budget is all gone. I love my car so race or not I want to get my car in the best shape I can

well if you were local to me i would sell ya my 350 motor that you could build up a little bit and stick in there but honestly I wouldn't worry about trying to beat your friend on that budget i would do some headers and like a 2 or 2.5 inch exhaust if you have the ability and time maybe pull off your intake and polish ii wish a dremel any maybe a K and N intake or even drop in's

where in georgia are you? search through the forums and read what others have tried done and wrote about. this is very well the best way to answer your questions.
first modifications i would do is a tune up, delete the smog pieces, and get some shorty headers and open up the exaust.
