Hi guys, I hope you can help me out.

I have an '88 Trans Am GTA with the 350 TPI (L98 ?) - I have had a problem with the idle speed for some time and getting worse. When the motor was warmed up it would idle too fast until you blip the gas pedal when it would then settle down,

So I swapped the TPS for a new one.

Now this seemed to fix things for a couple of days but now I have no idle at all.

At first it would start and idle, but when you selected D or R the motor would die.

Now I can start the car just fine but you have to hold the gas pedal in or there is no idle

There are no codes and SES light is off.

Any suggestions?

 

OK, fixed this one myself. And boy is my face red. The hose for the air feed was not screwed in place tight at the throttle body and had moved so it was obstructing the TPS moving properly. Refitted, tightened properly and the car idles fine...
