does any of the local auto stores such as napa, pep boys az and so on sell AFPR or do i have to order on line only asking because i have the plenum off and will be putting back on tomorrow

I've never seen one in a store. Online is a better bet.

There have been many posts on doing a DIY AFPR using the stock FPR. I tried to find the link, but couldn't. If you are in a hurry, you can do a google search to see if you can find it. It requires taking the FRP apart, and welding a Nut on the top. You then thread a screw into the nut. When you put the FPR back together, use something like a Quarter inside the FRP for theend of the bolt to ride against. When closed up, the bolt can be adjusted down, which will put pressure on the diaphragm and spring, and increase fuel pressure.

I wouldn't put a quarter under the stock cover. A quarter is way too thick!! Your fuel pressure will be stuck at a min. of 50 psi if you use a quarter. I have tried this idea out already.

I wish I could find the original post on this. It had good pictures and steps to follow. I remember something about using a hammer on the top part- maybe that was to provide a little room inside the cover for the adjustment. The quarter I seem to remember just as a flat piece of metal that the bolt could push down on against the diaphragm and spring. Oh well, I'll keep searching- maybe I can find the original discussion. For my setup, I used a Holley AFPR, and it seems to be dong fine.
