ive herd a lil about u can cut out the heating elements and makes it run better im not goin to untill i hear a lil bit about it fi any ones done it

Don't cut your heating elements!! The ECM sends voltage through them to maintain a constant temperature. That is how it measures airflow.

I think you mean removing the screens at either end of your MAF. You can do it but don't expect any major improvement.

Can i remove the MAF on a 1985 TA 5.0 anf just install a cone air filter on throttle body?

No, your ecm needs the MAF sensor to regulate air flow.

ok thanks. can it be streamlined? i mean the big box behind it right before the throttle body. can i just put an elbow in and eliminate the rectangular box?

Just be careful not to get too much oil in the filter, (they have oil in them to trap dirt), it can collect on the fine wires in the MAF and then need cleaning which is just a aerosol can of MAF cleaner. There are alot of options out there, you can keep the stock air and use K&N filters in them also for example. You can be creative and increase air flow depending on what you like.

And thats y some guys will be faster than others, Some will mod their car, some won't.
