GTE will not be held liable for any damage to your vehicle, yourself or property, and was wondering if any of you have installed a performance chip if you encountered any engine problems once chip was installed.thanks a bunch

Re: Performance chip ??

Standaed Warning in case you damage the ECM at installation. (Static Electrical charge). Really don't expect this so called perforance chip to be a magic bullet for your car. All it will do depending on the vendor, just change a few parameters over stock

That is a device which is basically a resistor. It installs on the IAT sensor . Intake air temp sensor under the tpi plenum. All that does is trick the ecm into thinking the actual air temp is colder/hotter than it actually is thus making it richen up the air/fuel mixture. A 4.7k resistor will do the same thing. Can be purchased at a local Radio Shack for a dollar or less.

A perfomance chip installs in the ecm itself. I would return that thing.
