Swapped 350 tpi now having problems

I swapped my 305 for a 350 tpi without knowing if there was anything wrong with it and I'm still having a little trouble with the new motor. Was wondering if anyone might have an idea as to what is still wrong with it. heres the details; when I swapped in the 350 I also put in a 2500 stall speed converter, the engine wouldn't fire because the moron who had it before me tightened the valves all the way down. loosened them up got it running, barely. because one of the lifters was compacted and a few more were on there way out. at this point found out that the valves were REALLY carboned up. put new lifters in and got it running better but not completely correct. The problem that I'm having now is that it hesitates when I hit the gas and dies when I come to a stop. Usually dies when warmed up a bit. Was told that it might be the timing, but then was told that it was just how much carbon buildup was on the valves. I would like to here someone else's opinion on the matter. So I've come to you.

Thanks,
Alex

sounds like faulty fuel injector(s). Check them for ohms. Check the boards on here on a product called Seafoam. That should clean the whole engine out!

would it be a bad idea to get larger injectors? If not what size and brand would you recommend?

Thanks,
Alex

if you put in larger ones, it will run rich and waste fuel. put stock ones back in. seriously.
