I have a 91 Camaro Z28 TPI I made some upgrades to the engine. At idle and when driving normal runs good. The problem im having is when i give it full throttle it red lines and doesnt down shift and alot of black smoke pours out the exhaust. The transmission worked fine before i made the mods, so i went to a local performance shop. they told me i might need a custom made chip for the aftermarket parts and mods i made to the engine. Has anyone ever ran into this problem or knows anything on this. If u do help me please!

 

what mods?

 

Bored 40 over, heads, roller rockers, headers, ported the intake manifold alittle bit and also made the ports in the intake bigger, 8mm wires with accel header spark plugs and an adjustable fuel regulator

 

black smoke is usually a bad cts. still need a custom chip burned to take advantage of mods

 

Who do u use or recommend to get the chip from?

 

pcmforless or you can try Harris performance.
