SLP Runners design
I bought a set of SLP runners just recently. I was surprised with what I found. So I need some help in determining whether or not my purchase was worth it. So can you TPI enthusiasts give me your thoughts on what I found out by visiting my thread?

Re: SLP Runners design
SLP intake runners have been around for a long time 30yrs or more and for a performance part that is a very long time. They work for one reason, I have a set on my car for the last 12 years. They have been around since you may have been playing with toy cars.
Re: SLP Runners design
I tend to believe SLP when they say "they have been built the same since day one". I owned a set very close to "day one". I don't recall ever measuring the ID top and bottom but yours look exactly like how I remember mine looking out of the box. I agree your lower intake may have been ported. The differnce was nothing like 5mm (about a quarter of an inch) when I put mine on an otherwise stock 87 vintage L98 back in the day.
The one thing that I found was just about required to make them work well was to port the plenum openings to match the siamesed "figure 8" opening at the top of the SLP runners. Bolting them up to a stock plenum didn't seem to make much difference in performance. After matching the plenum there was definitely a performance improvement over stock runners. Nothign that's going to require a change of underpants, but a little bump in torque pretty much everywhere in the RPM range and a couple hundred more usable RPM up top.

Re: SLP Runners design
They have been around since 85-87ish
24-26 yrs.
The 1st design made more power I'm sure just because of how they were built.
yeah i was driving when they 1st came out..

Re: SLP Runners design
1. Ditch Target and work in my field of study (PC repair & upgrade)
2. Buy a Summit Racing 700R4
3. And send my runners and base to get port matched.
