How To: Installing New Injectors

Just got some new fuel injectors, question about installing them.

When installing should i attach to the fuel rail first or to the manifold. Also is there any kind of lube, sealant, or oil that i should be using when installing, if so where? (o-rings on injector, the holes in the manifold etc..)

I bought my injectors from southbay they are the yellow tops for tpi 305 19lb

Thanks guys you are all great!

install them on the rail first, a light coating of petroleum jelly works good as a lube for the o-rings.

attach them to the fuel rails first, i didnt use any lube or oils and have had no problems with that. mine are for the 350 tpi but same exact concept.

Do not use any product that are petrolium based. WGiven enough time and heat it will breakdown most O-ring seal materials. Use a water based lubricant. I steal my wifes Avon hand lotion. Being water based it eventually evaporates.

Re: How To: Installing New Injectors

O-rings in atomotive engine applications are neoprene and not affected by petroleum products.
