EGR Solenoid from Rick's Camaro

Has anyone ever used the EGR Solenoid from Rick's Camaro?

http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-s...1985-1992.html

was wondering if it works on the TPI cars.

Hello kylet8020!!

I was just waiting to see if anybody else came up with anything, however, I see that isn't so!!!

To let the "cat out of the bag", I can't tell you if it's good or not, when I e-mailed Ricks Camaro about the part, they told me it was good for TPI cars, however when TheJoeY88 called them, they told him it was for TBI cars!!!

Two inquirys, two different answers!!!

Always a "grey" area, never black and white!!!!

Re: EGR Solenoid from Rick's Camaro

To be honest, I can't imagine why it wouldn't work. The solenoid just opens and closes a vacuum port. Unless the mounting configuration is vastly different, I can't see why they'd be different at all.

Hello Jim85IROC!!

I thought that was the case also, however in the thread "EGR solenoid discontinued" I had stated the same as you have just done, but it appears that the ones who have actually tried it, say that's not the case!!

Take the EGR solenoid from the LT1, it apparently doesn't work on the TPI motors, even though it looks the same except for the bracket!!

The only thing that I can think of that might be different is the coil windings of the solenoid, affecting the duty cycle, and that's really stretching it!!

As you have said, it just opens and closes a vaccum port!!
