have a couple questions on the swap. im pretty sure i have everything to make it happen, except having concerns on where to tap my vaccum off of my tpi intake

ok. the one to the fuel regulator is more to the top of the plenum correct? because i cant think right off hand where the one to the ac comes off at on that side

alright. i got the crossmember and torque arm kit from spohn. a driveshaft that is 3 inches longer than my stock one for the 700r4. and im having a local shop build the 350 trans. and is the non lock up style, didnt know if that will affect me? dont really think it will but im not as fimiliar with the whole computer/fuel injected scene. so my question is, will the th350 non lock up style be compatiable with me "tpi system"
oh i got too lookin at my intake and has no vaccum port there, heres a pic of my intake in that general area

That's the manifold with fuel rail, not the plenum which is above that. look above the red circle. two little pipes sticking out of the ribbed plenum.
oh ok got ya, didnt pay attention to the "disregard the red circle". and 'utilityguy2' could you shed some light to the question regarding the non lock up convertor trans?

The turbo 350 shouldn't be a problem but does it have a VSS (vehicle speed sensor)? That you need.

The vehicle speed sensor is in the transmission tail shaft on passenger side usually. It has a two wire electrical connection. I don't know if your car had the mechanical speedometer with the yellow buffer box or the VSS. If you have the mechanical cable going to the speedo then the VSS is built into that and is 2000 pulse per mile but if the car was originaly a electrical tranmission mounted VSS then it was a 4000 ppm unit.but either way the ECM needs that pulse per mile speed input to work correctly. Also makes a difference if you converted to SD from MAF and changed from 1227165 ECM to a 1227730. I don't know what you had before the 350 but you are most likely going to need a Memcal programmed for the change also.

it was a 305 tpi car. when i swapped the motor i used the computer from that car, has the mechanical speedo. not sure on the ecm # thats in the car now but the 305 one was the 1227165. it still has the MAF. not sure what the sd is tho. im havin the trans built this week. should i tell him i need a 2000ppm vss? sorry this is new to me
